OMG the list is huge this week (plus lots of stuff that didn't get done last week).

One big check from last week though: GRADUATING!!

Now onto packing and the rest of this list: (oh and teaching for two weeks because even though i'm done i'm not done...)

4 weeks, 25 days!

I know this post is about three days late but the really really really exciting thing is that I am DONE with my second work sample! I have not allowed myself to do anything wedding related in the last two weeks because I knew that I needed to get this done. Now it's done and I get to focus on the wedding for 25 more days!! Here is my list of things to do this week:

- Clean my house for graduation
- Design programs (will be posting for advice)
- Make a schedule for the day of events
- Print signs
- Buy Andy's wedding gift
- Buy Kenna and James gifts
- Plan for kids baskets
- Graduate!

P.S. Some very unexpected wedding planning news, last weekend Andy and his mom, Anita, helped me make 450 cake balls for the favors! That's right they are all done!!! I can't believe it just as much as you can't but I'm and so thrilled to have that big task off the list!

Ready, Paint, Fire!

Last Friday I got to celebrate with some of my favorite Portland women! Ashley had the amazing idea to go to a paint your own pottery studio where everyone would paint something for Andy and I to put in our new home. It was an amazing night and I loved celebrating with these women that have been such a huge part of my life this past year (and Kaitlin for the last 10 years!) Here are the pictures of the finished products, I can't believe how amazing they turned out!

Shannon, Lauren, me, Kaitlin, Ashley, Chelsie, and Abby

A fun fiesta dish made by Kaitlin. Thank you Katie, Andy will love filling this with chips and salsa!

Ashley made this beautiful sign that I plan to hang with ribbon. Thank you Ashley, it will look beautiful in our new apartment!

I love all of the little people that Chelsie draws and it made ours even more special that they are on a spoon rest. Thank you Chelsie but i'm not sure if I will actually be able to put a dirty spoon on such a beautiful piece of art!

Lauren and Shannon made these blossoming condiment bowls. Thank you Lauren and Shannon, I think they will look fabulous with sprinkles in them!

This one was made by Shannon.

This one was made by Lauren.

This fabulous vase was carefully designed and painted by Abby! Thank you Abby, I can't wait for Andy to buy me flowers to put in it!

One of my favorite things is that Abby and I used the same shades and the tops of our dishes mimic each other using opposite colors.

This is the utensil holder that I made. Not exactly how I planned for it to turn out but I love how bright the colors are!

Thank you to all of my Portland beauties for the awesome year and the beautiful ceramics!

HOLY SMOKES!

One month to go!!!! WOW, I can't believe that it has all gone by so quickly. Usually I would give you a list of things that I need to for the next month but since that list this month is a million points long, I decided to start doing a weekly list. So starting Sunday there will be four weeks to go and I will post my update for the week!

Rehearsal Dinner Invites

Finally I finished the rehearsal dinner invites. I LOVE the poem on them. A couple of months ago I found some cute paper that I have been needing an excuse to use. They have no connection to our theme or colors and don't even match each other but I decided oh well! I think they all turned out really cute and couldn't even decide which one was my favorite. Which one will you get in the mail? It's a surprise!!!! They are going in the mail tomorrow (the day after stamp prices go up :( )

Bridal Shower

I just wanted to thank everyone for being a part of such a special day for me! Especially my sister who worked soo incredibly hard to put it all together. I had so much fun and it was great seeing everyone again. I have a few of the bridal shower pictures and some from the night of bachelorette fun to share. Thank you again everyone for being the amazing women in my life, one step closer to the wedding!

Hmm.

It's less that I need to up date and more that I need to actually get wedding stuff done! Last night when I got home from school and the gym I feel right to sleep and still had to wake up and write lesson plans. My goal is to get to the craft store sometime this week so that I can pick up the paper and get some signs made! Hang in there with me, only 46 days left!!!

The World of Infomercials!

I was shopping with Kaitlin at Target yesterday and saw these awesome inventions that will work perfectly for your dresses! I've seen them a lot on infomercials but have never found it in me to buy them. When we found them at Target I thought that they couldn't be more perfect! They come in a pack of 6 so I thought I would just buy a pack and put one with each of your gifts :) I wanted to let you know though so you can plan for it and not have to buy a razerback bra. If you already have one that you were planning to wear let me know!

2 MONTHS!!

9 short weeks to go! By the grace of God everything got completed off the list from last month. This month I have a very short list because I intend on getting ALL of my second work sample finished this month. I think by creating a short wedding list and long school list I will be able to just focus on wedding stuff in the last month (and enjoy my Kinders!)

The entire list this month is paper products that I need to create (an excuse to use my loved cricut!)
Reserved for family- chairs x4
Reserved for family- tables x2
Mr. and Mrs. for sweetheart table
Out of town bag signs and directions
Kids activities (coloring books and crayons)
Photo share cards
Heritage table
Favor table
Rehearsal Dinner Invites

In the mail!

Invites are in the mail!!!!!! Look for yours in your mailbox soon! I will post pictures of the final product when I get home from school tomorrow. I left school at 4:30 today, stopped by the post office, and then drove straight down to Salem for an information session for the Salem-Keizer school district. I am leaving soon to drive back to Forest Grove and then go to bed!

Here they all are ready to go:

This is what the complete package looks like. I can't even begin to count the hours that went into making each individual piece. Especially the beautiful addresses on the envelopes by Ashley!!!

This is a small victory that I was really excited about. I really didn't want to do pocket fold invites because of how overwhelmingly popular they are right now (and expensive!) but I also didn't want the other inserts to be just loosely flying around. Somehow I stumbled upon placing them together like this one day. They resemble the pocket folds but use the RSVP envelope to keep them together. I had to post a picture because I know that by the time they get to everyone they will no longer be this neatly lined up. At least it was a victory for me even though nobody else will get to celebrate with me (or want to because it would seem kinda silly if you weren't in my brain!)

Final step with invites!

Invites have been the most ongoing process during this entire wedding planning and they are finally ready to go!!!!! This week is going to be spent getting them all put together and hopefully in the mail by Thursday. This is everything that needed to be compiled: The invites, the envelopes, the RSVP cards, the RSVP envelopes, the reception cards, two different kinds of stamps and my computer to watch ABC sitcoms during the entire process. I love that things are really coming together!!!

Don't these look AMAZING?!?!?!?! Ashley is the best BF in the world for spending soo many hours doing these for us. I think they look incredible and can not wait for everyone to see them! We struck up a deal a few months ago that I would scrapbook for her if she did our invites and I KNOW that we are getting the best end of the deal :)

Centerpieces

I don't have any new news to share so I was thinking back to things that were planned and not posted and I don't think that I ever posted the centerpieces that we decided on. I changed my mind a few different times but these are the final ones that have been ordered. Once again, our caterer/florist extraordinaire is doing all of the work for them. They will not be in the vases shown but in small square glass vases.

I met with Kelly today and picked out the cake..... what do you think??

:) Just joking! I'm not very good at telling jokes in person so I like to mess with all of you online, I know you probably don't believe it for a minute.

Here is the real inspiration behind our cake. It's hard to see in this picture but there are white dots all along the edges and small white flowers on the corners. There will be no flowers on top but instead a silver monogram L.

I'm ready for plan B

I have soooo much stuff to do for school and my to-do list for the wedding is not getting any shorter! p.s. I really like the "A Special Memory" on the window :)

Make-Up

I had my make-up trial run today! I think it turned out really well. I found a girl through Holly who works at the MAC counter at Macy's and does make-up on the side. She was super nice and was willing to do anything I wanted but still gave her input as a professional. She is either going to come to moms house or to the hotel before the wedding.
She is willing to do make-up for anyone else who wants it. She would charge $25 plus tip for each person. The more people who want to do it, the lower the price would be. She also said that if you want to do your own face and just have her do your eyes she could do that to.
So I need to know if anyone is interested just so that I can give her an estimate of what the day will be look. Please leave a comment or call me ASAP so that I can let her know. If you have any questions let me know!

Hilarious

I am thinking about changing the look of the wedding to something like this........ what do you think?

You have got to spend some time on this blog: http://tackyweddings.com/ I have laughed non stop for the best half an hour. The videos are the best, the little kid just getting home from the dentist made me cry I was laughing so hard. (It has nothing to do with weddings but still funny!)

Apparently it is not a good idea to mix silly string and fire... good lesson to learn before the wedding.

3 Months to go!!

The only thing that didn't get done off the list from last month is buying the paper for programs. We decided that we should wait till we have a closer estimate of how many people are coming before we buy to much or to little paper for it. However, this month there is a HUGE list of things to get finished up. (Plus my work sample!!)

Things to do before April 13th:
- Make sure all of the tuxedo rentals are in
- Meet again with Donna to set centrepieces
- Order wedding cake
- Order gifts for bridal party
- Update website
- Investigate requirements for marriage license
- Meet with Pastor Jason to plan ceremony
- Send DJ music selections
- Schedule first fitting and plan undergarments
- Purchase thank-you gifts for parents
- Do trial run with makeup
- Give TeriAnn a guest list for the shower
- Practice sugar cookies!

Kaitlin and I spent some time actually in Payless today (instead of just looking online) and fell in LOVE with these super simple and short heeled shoes. I know they are not what everyone had in mind but honestly I am done looking! They had a pair dyed in a light green color and they looked super cute. I can't decide between dying them a light green or a slightly darker green... what do you think? I am pretty set that these are the ones we are going with. Please, Please, PLEASE find a minute sometime in the next two weeks to stop by a Payless and find out what size you need them in. They cost $45 because we have to get the satin ones but dying them is free. I will place one large order so that they all turn out the same color from the dye we choose. IF ANYONE HAS ANY MAJOR OBJECTIONS, SPEAK NOW OR FOREVER HOLD YOUR PEACE. If they cost to much or sizing or fit isn't going to work let me know ASAP. Some Payless stores, like the one in Medford, keep their bridal shoes in the back so you might have to ask them to look at them.

The name of the shoe is "Grace" and the colors that I am going in between are Clover and Limelight. Let me know what you think!

An Early DIY Project

I know that thank you cards don't have to go out or be made for a while ... but once I had an idea in mind I really had to see if it would work! First of all, Martha Stewart is amazing! I found this great perfect circle cutter that was very inexpensive.

Somehow I stumbled upon these circular "L"'s with various boarders. I used the circle cutter to easily cut them out.

Next I found some green patterned paper that I cut in circles just a bit bigger than the L's.

Put them all together on the same simple paper we have used for all the paper in the wedding, and TADA! Perfect and easy thank you cards for after the wedding!

Bonus: They fit into the envelopes that we used for the save the dates and RSVP cards and we have enough extras so that we don't have to buy more envelopes!

100 DAYS!!

In elementary school we celebrate the 100th day of school, in wedding planning we celebrate 100 days to go!!!!! YEAH!!!!!

I plan to celebrate this weekend by changing the look of the blog :)

I've gotta tell you that I have spent A LOT of time on the Internet during this entire wedding planning process and found some really great websites but this one is the funfetti sprinkles on top of the cake! Etsy is a the craft extraordinaire version of eBay. All sorts of people post their homemade projects on the website and cool people like us get to buy them (without all the bidding auction crap which is fantastic!) I have gotten my earrings, veil, and cake topper (hasn't come in the mail yet) for great deals and they are all great! I am planning on getting both my mom and Andy's moms gifts and pieces of the bridesmaid gifts from there. Plus who knows what else! Go take a look and you will fall in love like me! http://www.etsy.com/

The earrings are actually silver with white pearls to match my necklace.

The veil is simple and should work great with the dress!

Decorations, Finally!

During a random trip to Michaels today I found this great paper lanterns! They were just the perfect something small that I had been looking for. This picture makes them look lavender but they are actually a very bright pink with white flowers on them. I only got 6 of them but I look it will be just enough to hang in the surrounding trees and add just a little pop!

A Good Weekend

It's been almost two months since I've been home which I think is one of my longest amounts of time away since I left for college 4 1/2 years ago! So it was VERY exciting to get down there for a weekend. We got in late on Friday but still got to see everyone before they went to bed. We got to meet the new baby in the Wallace house. King Joseph has been living with my parents for a month now and is ADORABLE! I got to spend the entire weekend holding him and getting my baby fix for a while.
Saturday we had to take James to the doctor. He ended up having to get a shot and it absolutely broke my heart! Then we took both James and Makenna to pick out the tux's for the wedding. Saturday night was the celebration party for the adoption of James and Makenna. It was great to see all of the important people in our family and in their lives! Here are a few pictures of the baby and the party!

P.S. If you look closely at the middle of the cake you will see the finger prints (the white spots) and smushed plant from three little boys who were a bit to eager!
